The role of Design Manager involves overseeing design processes within the Property department to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and to high standards. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to innovative and impactful projects in a growing sector.

This position is with a well-established organisation within the Property and Housing industry, known for its commitment to excellence and high-quality project delivery. They are looking for a Design Manager on a 12mth contract to support on a new contract win.

You will take ownership of the design management process across small to medium-sized projects and pre-construction opportunities, working closely with project, commercial and production teams to ensure design compliance, programme certainty and buildability. The role involves managing consultant appointments, coordinating the design programme, overseeing BSR and Gateway submissions, and ensuring all design information is fully approved and construction-ready.

You will also support tendering and pre-construction activity, contribute to value engineering solutions, and manage design change control, while maintaining effective relationships with clients, consultants and internal stakeholders.

About you:

  • Degree-qualified or chartered in a relevant discipline
  • Proven experience in a Design Manager (or similar) role within construction or the built environment
  • Strong knowledge of JCT, NEC and PPC contracts
  • Confident managing consultants, design programmes and regulatory processes
  • Organised, proactive and commercially aware
