This temporary role will focus on practical financial tasks that help day-to-day operations run smoothly.

- Description
- Prepare and post journals, including rent and service charge transactions.
- Manage accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support month-end close processes and maintain accurate financial records.
- Assist with the production of management accounts and financial reports.
- Raise sales invoices and support income accounting activities.
- Process weekly payment runs and support Accounts Payable functions.
- Produce financial reports, system downloads, and data analysis to support the finance team.
- Maintain and reconcile rent and service charge accounts.
- Support year-end audit and financial reporting requirements.
- Monitor and investigate financial variances and discrepancies.
- Work with large volumes of financial data across multiple finance systems.
- Support the continuous improvement of finance processes, controls, and reporting.
- Provide guidance and support to junior members of the finance team where required.
- Build effective working relationships across the organisation and act as a key contact for finance-related queries.
- Support both management accounting and transactional finance activities within a hands-on finance environment.
- Profile
A successful 'Interim Accountant' should have
- Part-qualified ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
- Experienced in journals, reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and month-end accounting.
- Strong Excel and finance systems skills, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Previous supervisory or line management experience desirable.
- Hands-on, adaptable, and willing to support across all areas of finance.
- Ambitious individual seeking progression into a more senior accounting role.
- Housing, social housing, or not-for-profit experience.
