We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Buyer for a critical role within our Procurement & Supply Chain department. The successful candidate will be responsible for procurement activities, supplier management and strategic sourcing within the industrial/manufacturing industry.

Description:

  • Manage procurement activities for the business, ensuring cost-effective purchasing decisions.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate contracts to ensure the best prices and terms.
  • Identify and implement strategic sourcing strategies to optimise cost savings.
  • Have category experience in FM, mobile plant and HR is desirable.
  • Ensure compliance with company and industry regulations and standards.
  • Perform market research to stay abreast of industry trends and potential new suppliers.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to forecast and plan for future procurement needs.
  • Analyse and manage inventory to ensure availability of necessary items.
  • Resolve any supplier-related issues or discrepancies that may arise.

Profile: A successful Buyer should have:

  • An educational background in business, procurement, supply chain management or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a Buyer role within the industrial/manufacturing industry.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers.
  • Excellent analytical skills to effectively manage inventory and make strategic sourcing decisions.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and standards.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and other relevant computer applications.
