We are seeking a skilled Senior Solicitor to join a reputable organisation's Legal Department within the Property industry in London. The role requires expertise in residential property law, a detail-oriented approach, and the ability to manage complex legal matters.

This opportunity is with a well-established organisation in the Property sector, known for its structured and professional environment. As part of a medium-sized company based in London, the team is dedicated to delivering exceptional legal expertise and services.

A professional role within the business based in the non-contentious property transactions team, to assist and support the business in dealing with a broad spectrum of non-contentious matters with a focus primarily on residential property-based transactions, commercial and business projects and ad hoc legal queries from the business teams and wider legal department.

Key accountabilities:

  • Managing a caseload of transactions from instruction through to completion, liaising with internal clients and stakeholders, leaseholders, solicitors, local authorities and other third parties to include drafting and negotiating lease extensions, new leases, transfers, contracts for sale and purchase and portfolio contracts, easements, a variety of other deeds, licences and agreements and infrastructure documents such as dedication deeds and option deeds.
  • Dealing with pre-emption rights, complex land registry applications and unregistered titles.
  • Working on and structuring business projects as and when required.
  • Performing legal due diligence on matters such as interpretation of leases, deeds and other property title documents, together with analysing complex title structures.
  • Working with Director of Legal, senior management team, internal and external stakeholders on matters affecting the wider business, ESG and various non-standard commercial initiatives.
  • Supervising junior members of the team and supporting the team with queries on their workload.

Profile

The successful applicant will be a Solicitor qualified in England & Wales with circa 10-15 years post qualification experience in residential conveyancing and non-contentious property work.

Preferred but not essential:

  • Experience of enfranchisement and wayleaves
  • Experience of commercial / business contracts
  • Knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022, construction and remediation projects desirable

They will be able and willing to attend the organisation's London offices on a Hybrid basis.
