Operating at significant scale and complexity, the organisation is known for delivering innovative, long-term infrastructure investment with substantial public impact. The legal function plays a critical role in supporting major commercial and procurement decisions across the business. Lawyers within the team work closely with senior operational and executive stakeholders on high-value, strategically important matters within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
The Senior Construction Legal Counsel will be:
- Leading on complex NEC construction and infrastructure contract matters across major projects
- Advising senior commercial and procurement stakeholders on contractual risk and strategy
- Supporting the negotiation of high-value construction, funding and supply chain agreements
- Advising on contractual claims, disputes and risk allocation issues
- Managing external legal advisers and supporting key business decision making on strategically significant matters
The Senior Construction Legal Counsel should be:
- A solicitor or barrister with significant construction and commercial contracts experience
- Highly experienced advising on NEC contracts within infrastructure, transport or major projects environments
- Experienced supporting high-value procurement and commercial negotiations
- Comfortable operating as a senior legal adviser to executive and operational stakeholders
- Experienced managing complex contractual risk, disputes and stakeholder relationships
