The firm advises a broad mix of developers, registered providers, institutional investors and major housebuilders, and is known for large scale, high profile transactions reported in the industry press.
Description
You will focus on site acquisition and development projects, handling a full range of real estate matters from initial due diligence through to completion. The work will include negotiating development agreements, conditional contracts, infrastructure arrangements and advising on title issues. You will also have exposure to larger projects such as joint ventures, regeneration schemes, leisure developments and care sector projects. The position offers regular partner contact and the chance to contribute to ongoing team growth.
- Running day to day files across a wide range of development transactions
- Managing due diligence, including title review and solution planning
- Reviewing and reporting on planning consents and section 106 agreements
- Negotiating and reporting on acquisition contracts including conditional, option and overage agreements
- Drafting and negotiating development agreements, including those with PLC housebuilders
- Handling plot, block and phase transfers and leases
- Advising on infrastructure and statutory agreements for development sites
- Managing golden brick completions and post completion requirements
- Supporting on large scale portfolio acquisitions and disposals
- Maintaining regular communication with clients and meeting deadlines
- Supervising junior fee earners where required
Profile
- 2 to 4 years PQE as a real estate solicitor with experience in development and site acquisition work
- Strong academics, ideally a 2:1 degree or above
- Excellent drafting, communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple matters and work with minimal supervision
- Commercially aware with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable with regular client contact
- Experience with registered provider clients or affordable housing is helpful but not essential
