An exciting opportunity for a Senior Associate to join a top-tier Private Client & Tax team within a leading international law firm. This role offers exposure to complex, cross-border matters for a prestigious client base, with clear scope for growth in a fast-expanding Private Capital practice.
The firm is widely recognised for its strength in the private wealth sector, with a top-tier reputation for delivering sophisticated, cross-border legal and tax advice. The Private Client & Tax team is part of a broader Private Capital initiative and is ranked Band 2 in Chambers & Partners HNW 2023. The team advises UK and international clients, with particular expertise in matters involving the Middle East and the United States.
Description
- Drafting wills and advising on succession planning, including structuring with trusts, foundations, and family investment vehicles.
- Advising on inheritance tax, reliefs, exemptions, and cross-border tax planning.
- Handling international estate planning, including conflict of laws and coordination with foreign counsel.
- Advising on UK tax residency, domicile, and personal tax issues including the remittance basis and double tax treaties.
- Supporting trustees and beneficiaries on trust law and restructuring.
- Advising on mental capacity issues and preparing lasting powers of attorney.
- Supporting philanthropic and impact investment initiatives, including charity law.
- Advising on transparency, reporting, and anti-corruption compliance.
- Providing tax advice on UK residential property structures, including ATED, SDLT, and corporate tax implications.
Profile
- A qualified solicitor in England & Wales with strong academic credentials.
- Experienced in private client work, ideally from a top-tier or specialist firm.
- Technically excellent with sound commercial judgement.
- Confident, proactive, and collaborative, with a practical and client-focused approach.
- Enthusiastic, personable, and self-motivated with a strong sense of responsibility.
