This is an exciting opportunity for a Funds Private Equity Practice Group Lawyer to join a professional services organisation specialising in the legal sector. The role requires expertise in fund structuring and regulatory matters, with a focus on delivering exceptional client solutions.

Client Details: This opportunity is with an elite, US-headquartered international law firm, widely recognised as a leader across global legal markets. With a substantial presence across North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia, the firm is known for its high-performing, commercially focused teams and its ability to deliver complex, cross-border mandates for a blue-chip client base. Its London office has established itself as a key part of the firm's international platform, offering a full-service, multidisciplinary practice. The team advises major UK and international clients on sophisticated domestic and cross-border matters across corporate, funds, finance, real estate and disputes, amongst other areas.

Description: The firm is seeking a Professional Support Lawyer (PSL) to support a high-performing practice group specialising in private capital, funds and corporate transactions. This is a strategic role focused on driving the team's knowledge agenda, supporting fee earners with best-in-class know-how and ensuring the practice remains at the forefront of market and legal developments.

  • Key aspects of the role include:
    • Monitoring legal, regulatory and market developments relevant to the team and its clients
    • Supporting the development and growth of the practice through technical expertise and knowledge sharing
    • Managing and enhancing the team's suite of precedents, templates and research materials
    • Designing and delivering training programmes and technical updates
    • Supporting broader knowledge and innovation initiatives within the firm

Practice Focus: The team advises on a wide range of sophisticated matters, including:

  • Fund formation (closed-ended and open-ended structures across multiple jurisdictions)
  • Platform investments and GP stakes
  • Joint ventures and programmatic partnerships
  • Carried interest and co-investment arrangements
  • Secondaries transactions, including GP-led deals
  • Complex M&A and strategic transactions involving real assets and fund managers
  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Knowledge Strategy Innovation
    • Assess and respond to the knowledge needs of the practice
    • Collaborate with innovation teams to implement legal technology and client-facing tools
    • Client-Facing Support
    • Contribute to client initiatives, including seminars, workshops and thought leadership
    • Thought Leadership
    • Draft and coordinate articles and publications
    • Track legal and market developments and disseminate insights to the team
    • Identify emerging trends and strategic opportunities
    • Training Technical Development
    • Identify training needs and deliver tailored learning programmes
    • Support lawyers in accessing and utilising knowledge resources
    • Know-How Precedents
    • Develop and maintain market-leading precedents, templates and guidance notes
    • Manage and enhance internal knowledge systems and materials
    • General
    • Provide ongoing knowledge support and contribute to team initiatives and meetings

Profile: A successful Funds Practice Group Lawyer should have:

  • A qualification as a solicitor in England and Wales or an equivalent jurisdiction.
  • Strong expertise in fund structuring and regulatory matters within the legal industry.
  • Proven ability to manage complex legal transactions and documentation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • A collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Job Offer: Experience Qualified lawyer (England Wales) with experience gained at a leading law firm. Background in private equity, real estate funds or corporate transactions preferred. Experience drafting and negotiating relevant transaction documents. Prior PSL or knowledge experience advantageous, but not essential.

Skills Attributes: Excellent drafting, research and organisational skills. Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail. Proactive and confident working with senior stakeholders. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Interest in knowledge management, training and innovation. Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.

Qualifications: Qualified solicitor or barrister in England Wales. Strong academic background (minimum 2:1 or equivalent).
