This Interim Head of Legal role based in Nottinghamshire will provide senior legal leadership across a growing UK and Ireland environmental services group. You will take ownership of the legal, governance and risk agenda while the organisation recruits its permanent Head of Legal, ensuring continuity, pace and practical support for the Board and wider business.

Description
- Acting as the principal legal adviser to the Board, Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer and senior leadership team during the permanent recruitment process
- Taking immediate ownership of priority commercial contracts, acquisitions, disputes, employment matters, governance, regulatory compliance and enterprise risk
- Leading legal support for live transactions, due diligence, corporate projects and post deal integration activity across the UK and Ireland
- Managing external law firms and specialist advisers, ensuring matters are progressed efficiently and legal spend remains controlled
- Reviewing current legal processes, risks and priorities, maintaining business continuity and delivering a clear handover to the permanent Head of Legal
Profile
- A solicitor or equivalent with significant PQE and previous experience leading or operating at a senior level within an in house legal function
- A broad commercial lawyer with strong experience in commercial contracts, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and complex business projects
- Confident managing litigation, employment, regulatory, insurance, property and data protection matters through a combination of direct advice and external counsel
- Comfortable advising Board members and senior stakeholders within a complex, multi site and regulated organisation
- Immediately available or able to start at short notice, with the judgement and confidence to quickly assess risk, prioritise urgent matters and work with limited supervision
Job Offer
This interim assignment offers a day rate of £650 to £750 per day, hybrid working and an immediate start for the duration of the permanent recruitment process.
