My client is a London‑based estates and management business focused on overseeing a wide range of residential property matters. They operate with a strong legal function that handles non‑contentious property transactions, title issues, lease work, and broader support for internal teams, ensuring smooth and compliant property management processes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of residential property transactions from instruction to completion.
  • Draft and negotiate lease extensions, new leases, transfers, auction sales, easements, deeds, and licences.
  • Handle pre‑emption rights, Land Registry applications, adverse possession claims, and unregistered titles.
  • Conduct legal due diligence on leases, deeds, and property title documents, including analysing title structures.
  • Respond to legal and title enquiries from internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to departmental projects as required.
  • Update property management systems and coordinate information with other departments.
  • Support senior legal team members by meeting deadlines and ensuring the company's interests are protected.
  • Develop and streamline procedures to improve case management workflows.
  • Assist with complaints responses, ensuring clear, accurate, and professional communication.
  • Prepare materials for presentations, meetings, and filings.
  • Mentor, supervise, and support junior team members as needed.
  • Undertake legal research using online resources and internal materials.

Qualifications

  • Law graduate or equivalent with strong residential conveyancing experience.
  • Confident managing a varied caseload independently from start to finish.
  • Skilled in drafting and interpreting complex legal documents.
  • Strong understanding of property law and conveyancing procedures.
  • Highly accurate with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organised, reliable, and able to work well under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Effective at liaising with internal teams, leaseholders, solicitors, and third parties.
  • Proactive, solution‑oriented, and keen to streamline processes.
  • High integrity and professionalism in all work.
  • Comfortable supporting, mentoring, or guiding junior team members.
  • Computer literate with solid Word and Excel skills.
  • Desirable: knowledge of statutory lease extensions, enfranchisement, or property acquisitions.
