This is a Legal Counsel position for a 2 - 5 yr PQE technology solicitor, on site, with a sector leading FTSE 250 Company and Global Brand.
As part of a team of four lawyers reporting to the General Counsel you will advise to the Technology and IT side of the business globally, in order to mitigate business risks and enable the business to expand its client base in a fast-paced environment. This will include:
- Being responsible for day-to-day advice on IT, Tech and IP legal issues, negotiation of IT and Tech licences, consultancy agreements and general commercial contracts.
- Assisting in the legal elements of developing new applications and advising on regulatory elements of the same including GDPR.
- Instruct and manage the legal relationships with outside Counsel and internal stakeholders.
- You will also support the global compliance programme covering GDPR, data privacy, sanctions, AML, bribery and corruption, market abuse etc and it is expected that you will broaden your skill sets to cover a more generalist in-house legal role.
The successful candidate will be a lawyer, qualified in England & Wales (or an equivalent Common Law jurisdiction). The remuneration and work on offer for the role are appropriate for a lawyer with between 2 and 4 years PQE. It is mandatory that:
- You have gained experience within in a corporate/commercial legal team.
- You have experience in Tech and IP law and contract negotiation.
Desirable Requirements:
- Experience in dealing with financial crimes compliance.
Please note that this role has a requirement to be onsite, 5-days per week (it is not hybrid).
