Description
The role of Legal Counsel will include the following responsibilities:
- Advise on a wide range of commercial, technology and procurement matters, including outsourcing and professional services agreements.
- Support innovative digital and technology projects, including cloud services, AI, distributed ledger technology and trading/information-sharing platforms.
- Work on M&A and corporate advisory matters, including acquisitions, disposals and equity investments.
- Gain exposure to corporate governance matters and broader strategic projects affecting the bank.
- Advise on relevant legal and regulatory developments, contributing to regulatory and legal-watch initiatives.
- Work closely with stakeholders across Investment Banking, Global Markets, Finance, IT & Operations, HR and Compliance.
Profile
A successful Legal Counsel should have:
- Qualified Solicitor in the UK or relevant jurisdiction.
- Strong training and experience in Corporate / Commercial transactional and advisory work.
- Knowledge of financial services regulations and legal frameworks would be beneficial.
- Proven ability to manage legal risks and provide practical advice to stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
