This is an excellent opportunity for a Compliance / Legal professional to join a leading organisation in the Energy sector. This role focuses on providing expert compliance advice and legal support within a fast-paced and evolving environment.
This Legal Counsel- Ethics & Compliance is based in London and would suit a qualified Lawyer with focused compliance experience or a Corporate Compliance professional who has contract review experience. It involves:
- Provide legal advice and guidance on compliance matters across the organisation.
- Ensure adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures.
- Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations to mitigate legal risks.
- Review and draft contracts, agreements, and other legal documentation.
- Deliver training and support to internal teams on compliance and legal matters.
- Monitor changes in legislation and advise on their impact on the organisation.
- Collaborate with external counsel and regulatory bodies as required.
A successful Legal Counsel-Compliance should have:
- A degree in law and qualification to practise as a solicitor or equivalent. Candidates who are not qualified lawyers, but have the relevant compliance expertise & experience will be considered.
- Strong knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Proven ability to manage legal risks and provide strategic advice.
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills for contracts and agreements.
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Experience in collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
