An excellent opportunity for a Commercial Legal Counsel to join a substantial and complex organisation based in Lincolnshire. This broad position offers exposure to domestic and international contracts, regulatory matters and wider business-critical legal work. The role would suit an experienced private practice lawyer making their first move in-house, or an existing in-house counsel looking for greater variety and commercial exposure.
Our client is a large manufacturer and established organisation with extensive UK operations and international commercial relationships. It operates in a complex and highly regulated environment, giving its legal team exposure to commercially significant matters and senior decision-makers. The Commercial Legal Counsel will be:
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts relating to the domestic and international purchase and sale of goods and services.
- Advising commercial, procurement and operational teams on contractual risk and practical solutions.
- Providing initial advice on employment, HR and litigation matters, instructing external counsel where specialist support is required.
- Supporting the business with environmental, regulatory and competition law matters.
- Developing legal templates, guidance and processes to help the wider business manage risk effectively.
The Commercial Legal Counsel should be:
- A solicitor or equivalent with at least 5 years PQE.
- Experienced in drafting and negotiating a broad range of commercial contracts.
- Currently working in private practice or in-house.
- Experienced within manufacturing, engineering, industrial or other operational environments/clients.
- Comfortable supporting or coordinating advice across areas such as employment, litigation, environmental and regulatory law.
The successful Commercial Legal Counsel will receive:
- A salary of £75,000-£85,000.
- A car allowance of £6,000.
- Hybrid working, with two days per week in the Lincolnshire office.
- 27 days' annual leave plus bank holidays.
