Description
The Conveyancing Locum will be:
- Managing full conveyancing transactions (sales, purchases, remortgages, transfers of equity)
- Progressing cases from initial instruction to completion
- Raising and responding to enquiries, ordering searches and discharge of mortgages
- Liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders, and other solicitors
- Preparing contracts, completion statements, SDLT forms, and Land Registry applications
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory and anti-money-laundering requirements
- Maintaining accurate case records and billing efficiently
- Providing excellent client updates and supporting Head of Conveyancing
Profile
The Conveyancing Locum should be:
- A solicitor or equivalent with 5+ years' residential conveyancing experience
- Competent with freehold, leasehold, remortgage, and transfer of equity matters
- Experienced in SDLT, Land Registry and legal compliance
- Confident in client and stakeholder communication
- Proactive, organised, and able to manage workload independently
