Description
You will work as a part of a small, collegiate team of in-house lawyers providing wide-ranging legal advice to a cross-section of internal clients to ensure that a balance is reached between the commercial demands and the long-term legal protection of the company.
This role offer the opportunity for progression and development, including gaining experience in a broad spectrum of practice areas.
Key areas of work will include:
- Structuring, drafting, negotiating and advising on a wide range of commercial agreements with, amongst others, train operating companies, manufacturers, heavy maintenance suppliers and engineering consultancies;
- Providing pro-active and re-active legal advice to all business areas in connection with projects relating to, amongst others, the procurement, maintenance, operation, refurbishment, insurance, leasing, sale and disposal of rolling stock and well as advising in relation to some construction related matters.
- Providing legal support on diversification and growth opportunities for the business;
- Advising on a wide range of legal issues including, amongst others, commercial contracts, regulatory, public procurement, IPR, health and safety, corporate and competition law issues;
- Liaising with and assisting at all times other members of the Legal Team to ensure adequate information sharing and the provision by the Legal Team of efficient and pragmatic legal advice;
- If applicable, advising on asset financing and banking matters pertaining to the debt and security structure of the group.
Profile
The successful candidate will be a Solicitor or Barrister, qualified in England & Wales (or another Common Law Jurisdiction).
The will be likely to have at least 2 years of post qualification experience (probably a maximum of 5 years, given the work on offer, structure of the team and the remuneration that comes with this position).

The successful candidate will be willing and able to attend the organisation's central London offices on a hybrid basis (50% of the time spent in the office).
