An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Construction Legal Counsel to join a major UK infrastructure organisation delivering one of the country's most complex and high-profile programmes. The legal function plays a critical role in supporting major commercial and procurement decisions across the business. Lawyers within the team work closely with senior operational and executive stakeholders on high-value, strategically important matters within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

The Senior Construction Legal Counsel will be:

  • Leading on complex NEC construction and infrastructure contract matters across major projects
  • Advising senior commercial and procurement stakeholders on contractual risk and strategy
  • Supporting the negotiation of high-value construction, funding and supply chain agreements
  • Advising on contractual claims, disputes and risk allocation issues
  • Managing external legal advisers and supporting key business decision making on strategically significant matters

The Senior Construction Legal Counsel should be:

  • A solicitor or barrister with significant construction and commercial contracts experience
  • Highly experienced advising on NEC contracts within infrastructure, transport or major projects environments
  • Experienced supporting high-value procurement and commercial negotiations
  • Comfortable operating as a senior legal adviser to executive and operational stakeholders
  • Experienced managing complex contractual risk, disputes and stakeholder relationships
