The role of Legal Counsel involves providing comprehensive legal support for a range of property transactions. Based in Basingstoke, this part-time fixed-term contract is ideal for a professional with expertise in legal property matters.
This Part-Time Legal Counsel position is working as part of a large In-House legal team who have a large property portfolio across the country. They are committed to maintaining high legal standards and providing expert advice across their operations.
The Part Time Legal Counsel position will involve the following responsibilities:
- Provide legal support for the strategic asset management of the property portfolio
- Handling a broad range of property-related legal matters and maintaining accurate legal records
- Manage legal processes for the sale of small parcels of land
- Handle variations of restrictive covenants and adverse possession claims
- Process requests for licenses, wayleaves, and deeds of easement
- Review and respond to resident and private owner applications for property modifications
- Ensure accurate legal documentation and record keeping, including deeds of covenant and signing/sealing processes
- Carry out reviews of title, planning, estate documents and leases to provide reports and advice
The successful Part-Time Legal Counsel should have the following skills and experience:
- A law degree and professional legal qualification
- Previous experience of working on property transactions from either a private practice or In-house setting
- Strong skills in drafting and reviewing legal documents
- An ability to manage legal risks and provide practical solutions
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities
This is a fixed term contract to cover maternity leave working 30 hours per week. Hybrid working is available. Parking is available onsite. A wide range of benefits including pension scheme and 25 days holiday.
