Reporting to the Global Head of People Operations, the Global HR Shared Services Manager will lead the delivery, development and continuous improvement of HR operational services across a complex international business supporting approximately 5,000 employees globally.

Leading a dedicated HR Shared Services team, you will be responsible for delivering an efficient, customer-focused and scalable service across the entire employee lifecycle. A key aspect of the role will be developing team capability through coaching, mentoring and performance leadership, ensuring a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement. You will also play a pivotal role in driving HR systems and process optimisation, identifying opportunities to streamline operations, improve service delivery and enhance the employee experience through technology and automation.

Working closely with HR Centres of Excellence, regional HR teams and business stakeholders across multiple geographies, you will help shape a best-in-class People Services function that combines operational excellence with a strong customer focus.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Leading, coaching and developing the HR Shared Services team, creating a high-performance culture focused on service excellence, continuous learning and accountability.
  • Building team capability through effective performance management, succession planning and ongoing development initiatives.
  • Driving operational effectiveness across all HR administration and employee lifecycle activities.
  • Establishing and monitoring service levels, KPIs and performance metrics to ensure a consistent, high-quality and customer-centric service.
  • Identifying opportunities to simplify, standardise, automate and optimise HR processes across multiple regions.
  • Leading continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, service quality and employee experience.
  • Supporting the development and optimisation of HR systems, ensuring technology is leveraged effectively to improve operational delivery and data quality.
  • Partnering with HRIS and technology teams on system enhancements, upgrades and transformation projects.
  • Working closely with HR Centres of Excellence, regional HR teams and business leaders to improve service delivery and align operational priorities.
  • Ensuring HR processes remain compliant with internal policies, governance requirements and relevant local employment legislation.
  • Leveraging people data, reporting and analytics to generate insights and support informed decision-making.
  • Leading projects and initiatives that drive transformation, efficiency and scalability across the global HR function.
  • Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of People Operations objectives.

This role requires someone to be engaging with the business and stakeholders for a minimum of 3 days per week.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will be an experienced HR operations or shared services leader with a passion for developing people, improving processes and delivering outstanding customer service.

You will bring:
  • Proven experience leading an HR Shared Services, HR Operations or People Services function within a large and complex organisation.
  • Experience supporting geographically dispersed workforces across multiple countries or regions.
  • A track record of developing, coaching and leading high-performing teams.
  • Strong knowledge of HR operational processes and employee lifecycle administration.
  • Experience driving service improvement, process optimisation and transformation initiatives.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using people data and reporting to inform decision-making.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and build credibility at all levels.
  • Experience working with HR systems and HR technology platforms.
  • A customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering a first-class employee experience.
