Job Description The Senior Risk Manager's role is to; Facilitate the operation of the group's Risk Management Framework, including risk appetite, risk registers, emerging risks and escalation processes.
Drive continuous improvement of Group risk methodology to ensure comprehensive coverage and business value.
Ensure risk appetite is clearly understood and consistently applied across the business.
Maintain and evolve risk related policies, procedures and governance documentation to remain aligned with regulatory expectations and Group priorities.
Serve as a strategic risk advisor to senior leaders, using insights to identify emerging risks, operational vulnerabilities, and regulatory shifts.
Lead risk workshops and assessments with business leaders, project teams, and operational functions.
Maintain strong awareness of local, regional, and global risk drivers, supporting the integration of Group acquisitions.
Undertake periodic risk reviews to ensure sustained compliance with regulatory, client and Group standards.
Champion a positive and proactive risk and compliance culture across the Group.
Develop and deliver training, guidance, and communication to improve risk capability and foster accountability.
Act as a subject‑matter expert for risk‑related queries, supporting colleagues at all levels.
Work closely with procurement, commercial, legal, and new business teams to integrate risk management into key processes.
The Successful Applicant A successful Senior Risk & Compliance professional should have: Demonstrable experience in implementing Risk Management Frameworks.
Strong track record in complex, fast paced, client focused contracting environments.
Highly desirable proven experience in a similar industry (e. g. engineering, utilities, construction, energy).
Exceptional collaboration and influencing skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present to senior leadership.
Advanced analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to simplify complexity and deliver creative solutions.
Results driven approach with a focus on delivering objectives through to completion.
Degree in Risk Management or a specialist qualification such as the IRM Diploma.
Working knowledge of recognised risk management standards (ISO 31000, COSO ERM, APM PRAM).
Experience with Risk Management Information Systems Experience working in global or inter-group environments (advantageous).
