Overview

In this role you will manage direct and indirect tax compliance for Ghana and West Africa entities, ensuring timely filings and auditable documentation.

You will coordinate with Group Tax and local authorities, providing practical tax advice to finance teams.

The position supports internalising recurring tax tasks and monitors tax developments to protect the business.

You will work in an international context with cross-functional stakeholders to minimise risk and drive compliant operations.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate direct and indirect tax compliance across Ghana and West Africa entities, including calculations, returns, payments, and filings
  • Maintain regional tax calendar and ensure timely, auditable documentation per Group standards
  • Support internalisation of recurring tax compliance activities
  • Provide practical tax advice to finance and business teams on contracts, operations, and commercial initiatives
  • Monitor local tax developments and escalate significant issues to Group Tax
  • Act as local point of contact with tax authorities and external advisers, coordinating audits and disputes
  • Identify and report tax risks and compliance gaps with proper documentation
  • Provide regular compliance and risk reports to Group Tax on status and developments
  • Key requirements
  • Bachelor in Tax, Accounting or Finance with strong Ghanaian tax knowledge
  • Hands-on experience in Ghanaian taxation; exposure to West Africa is a plus
  • Solid knowledge of corporate and indirect taxes, tax compliance and audits
  • Ability to translate complex tax matters into practical business guidance
  • Proactive, rigorous, commercially minded with strong stakeholder management skills
  • Capability to interact with finance teams, tax authorities and external advisers in an international setting
