Michael Page is delighted to be partnering exclusively with a 500+ million market leader in their industry. Due to an internal promotion, we are recruiting for a Senior Accountant to be based in their offices in Northwest London. Hybrid working is available.

As the Senior Accountant based in Northwest London, you will assist the Financial Controller with the day-to-day tasks in connection with recording accounts information for revenue and costs, general month-end accounting work, and other ad-hoc work as required. The position will offer the opportunity to develop all-round accounting skills and will be pivotal to the efficient functioning of the processes within the above-mentioned scope of the business.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Managing and reporting Capex and Fixed Assets for all London and Manchester businesses.
  • Liaising with relevant colleagues to obtain and submit information.
  • Assistance in Budget process.
  • Management and reporting of all property-related costs to ensure correct amounts of rent, rates, and related charges are incurred for all sites.
  • Preparation of various monthly cost accruals and prepayment journals.
  • Reconciling all balance sheets related to the relevant areas of responsibility on a monthly basis.
  • Preparation of various reporting packs with the requirements of the business.
  • Entering data on the Oracle/SAP accounting system as and when required.
  • Ensuring controls are maintained at all times and maintaining integrity of the numbers being produced.
  • Assistance in the preparation of the monthly management accounts variance analysis and reports ensuring that the board and management have a full understanding of the company performance.
  • Providing cover for the duties of other colleagues in the department during holidays.
  • Prepare and submit National Statistics for business survey data.
The Successful Applicant:
  • Experience in a similar role.
  • Qualified Accountant, CIMA, ACCA, ACA.
  • Fixed Assets experience.
  • Exposure to day-to-day accounting entries and procedures within sub-ledgers within an accounting system.
  • Exposure to Oracle and SAP accounting systems is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong systems understanding, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to manage own workload effectively and work to deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Ability to influence and persuade key decision makers.
  • Ability to interpret and present statistical data.
