Job Description

The Commercial Principal Associate will be:

  • Advising a diverse portfolio of customer and supplier clients on commercial contracts
  • Handling high value, long term outsourcing and supply chain arrangements
  • Advising on traditional IT contracts and agreements involving emerging technologies
  • Providing commercially focused advice on innovative and disruptive technologies, including AI systems and services
  • Building strong, trusted relationships with clients and taking a proactive approach to client management
  • Getting involved in business development initiatives through client seminars, training sessions and briefing materials
  • Mentoring more junior members of the commercial team
  • Working closely with senior partners to support the continued development and growth of the Leeds commercial practice
  • Contributing to the wider success and profile of the commercial team

The Successful Applicant

The Commercial Principal Associate should be:

  • A solicitor with approximately 5 to 10 years PQE
  • Experienced in commercial contracts and able to advise confidently across a broad range of agreements
  • Experienced in outsourcing, supply chain, IT or technology related contracts
  • Comfortable advising on innovative technologies, with an interest in AI and emerging technology
  • Able to work in a client facing role with strong relationship management skills
  • Experienced in supporting business development and developing client relationships
  • Able to coach and mentor junior lawyers
