Financial Assurance and Compliance Manager

b Overview /b p In this role you lead a growing financial assurance function within a large, complex not-for-profit institution. You will strengthen the control environment, provide insight into financial and operational risks, and influence senior stakeholders to improve processes. You’ll build effective financial control and assurance frameworks, and drive the organisation’s counter-fraud agenda. This position offers strategic impact across governance, risk management, and culture, with a focus on sustainable improvements. /p b Pay / Benefits /b ul li salary 55,000-65,000 /li li inclusive environment /li li opportunity for leadership /li li impactful role in a large institution /li /ul b Responsibilities /b ul li Lead financial assurance across a large, complex organisation /li li Develop and embed robust financial control and assurance frameworks /li li Identify emerging risks and propose practical control improvements /li li Oversee counter-fraud activities including prevention, detection and response /li li Advise on fraud risks, investigations and sensitive compliance matters /li li Use data analytics to detect trends, weaknesses, and risk areas /li li Support leadership with assurance reporting and risk assessments /li li Collaborate with stakeholders to strengthen governance and promote best practice /li li Manage and develop a small specialist team /li li Contribute to wider risk management and compliance strategy /li /ul b Key requirements /b ul li Qualified finance professional with ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent /li li Experience in audit, assurance, risk, governance, financial controls, or related discipline /li li Strong understanding of internal controls, governance frameworks and risk management /li li Experience in assessing, challenging and improving financial processes and controls /li li Knowledge of fraud risk management, counter-fraud frameworks or investigations /li li Excellent analytical skills and ability to identify root causes and systemic risks /li li Strong stakeholder engagement and ability to influence senior levels /li li Experience leading projects, teams or organizational change initiatives /li li Experience in not-for-profit, education, public sector or charitable sectors advantageous /li /ul ul li Stakeholder engagement /li li Influencing and credibility-building /li li Collaborative mindset /li li Internal controls /li li Governance frameworks /li li Risk management principles /li /ul
