Job Description

  • Review statutory accounts prepared by junior and part-qualified team members, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Oversee the preparation and delivery of financial statements for a diverse client portfolio.
  • Review and support the preparation of management accounts, corporation tax returns and personal tax returns.
  • Prepare and review consolidated group accounts for more complex client structures.
  • Act as a key technical point of contact for accounting and reporting queries.
  • Liaise directly with external auditors and respond to audit queries efficiently.
  • Identify areas for improvement and maintain high quality standards across assignments.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing clear and commercial advice.
  • Support, mentor and develop junior members of the team.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to ensure client deadlines and service standards are consistently achieved.

The Successful Applicant

  • ACA or ACCA qualified.
  • Strong experience gained within an accountancy practice environment.
  • Experience reviewing and overseeing the work of others rather than solely preparing accounts.
  • Strong technical knowledge of statutory accounts preparation and financial reporting requirements.
  • Proven experience preparing and reviewing consolidated group accounts.
  • Experience liaising with auditors and resolving technical accounting queries.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Strong communication skills with the confidence to engage with clients and colleagues at all levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and deliver within deadlines.
