Job Description
- Review statutory accounts prepared by junior and part-qualified team members, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards.
- Oversee the preparation and delivery of financial statements for a diverse client portfolio.
- Review and support the preparation of management accounts, corporation tax returns and personal tax returns.
- Prepare and review consolidated group accounts for more complex client structures.
- Act as a key technical point of contact for accounting and reporting queries.
- Liaise directly with external auditors and respond to audit queries efficiently.
- Identify areas for improvement and maintain high quality standards across assignments.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing clear and commercial advice.
- Support, mentor and develop junior members of the team.
- Work closely with senior leadership to ensure client deadlines and service standards are consistently achieved.
The Successful Applicant
- ACA or ACCA qualified.
- Strong experience gained within an accountancy practice environment.
- Experience reviewing and overseeing the work of others rather than solely preparing accounts.
- Strong technical knowledge of statutory accounts preparation and financial reporting requirements.
- Proven experience preparing and reviewing consolidated group accounts.
- Experience liaising with auditors and resolving technical accounting queries.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to engage with clients and colleagues at all levels.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and deliver within deadlines.
