Overview

In this CFO role, you will lead the UK finance function within an ambitious PE-backed group, partnering with the Managing Director and the broader IDAK Group to drive growth and financial discipline. You will bring high-quality financial and commercial insight to the Board, shaping strategy and performance across customers, products, and channels. The role focuses on visibility, governance, and scalable finance infrastructure to support international expansion. You will work hands-on with cross-functional leaders to improve margin and inform strategic decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a strategic partner to the MD and UK leadership, shaping future direction
  • Provide high-quality financial and commercial insight to the Board and leadership, challenging performance
  • Lead the UK financial strategy aligned with the wider Group goals
  • Strengthen MI, forecasting, and financial planning for clearer performance visibility
  • Deepen understanding of profitability by customer, product, and channel to drive margin
  • Collaborate with commercial/operational leads on pricing, mix, productivity, cost management and margins
  • Maintain financial controls across accounting, cash flow, working capital, capex and balance sheet
  • Deliver timely, insightful reporting to UK leadership and the Group
  • Develop meaningful KPIs and translate insight into action
  • Advance UK finance infrastructure, processes, and controls as the organisation scales
  • Assess and potentially implement a new ERP platform and digitalisation of financial information
  • Provide financial leadership on investment proposals, capex, and significant commercial opportunities
  • Build relationships across IDAK and operate within a matrix international environment
  • Manage external financial relationships including auditors, banks, tax advisers and partners

Key requirements

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification
  • Experience as CFO, Finance Director or senior finance leader in a sizeable commercial organisation
  • Experience in food manufacturing, FMCG, or operationally complex environments
  • Strong commercial finance capability and track record turning data into decisions
  • Strong FP&A, reporting, cash management, controls and performance management experience
  • Experience building finance capability and processes in growing organisations
  • Understanding of customer/product/channel profitability and margin improvement
  • ERP implementation or finance transformation experience is advantageous
  • Experience in a larger Group or matrix with international stakeholders
  • Leadership experience building commercially focused finance teams
