Client Details

Reporting to the AR leader, you'll take ownership of a portfolio of key accounts, managing the full credit control process whilst ensuring cash collection targets are achieved and customer accounts remain accurate and up to date. This role would suit an experienced Credit Controller who enjoys building relationships, resolving complex queries and working within a fast-paced FMCG, manufacturing or distribution environment.

Description

The key responsibilities of the Credit Controller include:

• Managing and maximising cash collection across a portfolio of major retail customers.
• Building strong working relationships with customer accounts teams and navigating retailer payment portals.
• Investigating and resolving invoice disputes, short payments and deductions.
• Reconciling high-volume sales ledger accounts, ensuring timely allocation of cash, credits and debits.
• Monitoring retailer rebates, promotional deductions and trade spend claims.
• Working closely with commercial, logistics and supply chain teams to resolve queries efficiently.
• Providing aged debt reporting, cashflow forecasts and updates on outstanding disputes.
• Ensuring invoices are successfully submitted and processed through EDI and customer systems.

Profile

A successful Credit Controller should have:

• Previous experience within a Credit Control position.
• Exposure to FMCG, manufacturing, wholesale or distribution businesses.
• Experience dealing with large retail customers and supermarket portals.
• Strong reconciliation and query resolution skills.
• Good Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables.
• Experience using ERP systems and EDI platforms.
• A proactive, resilient and relationship-focused approach.

Job Offer

• Salary up to £32,000
• Hybrid working model after a settling-in period, with three days in the office.
• Permanent contract in a stable industry.
