This is a hands-on Senior Financial Accountant role with particular focus on regulatory returns, financial compliance and audit, alongside core financial reporting and control. The role will also manage and develop 1 direct report.

A highly successful organisation based in East Kent. The company offers hybrid working of 3 days in the office and 2 from home.
Description
- Review balance sheet reconciliations and maintain strong financial controls across the business.
- Manage the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Take ownership of relevant regulatory returns, ensuring submissions are accurate, complete and delivered within required deadlines.
- Maintain an effective compliance framework from a finance perspective, ensuring appropriate processes and controls are in place.
- Monitor changes to regulatory and financial reporting requirements and assess their impact on the business.
- Maintain supporting documentation and a clear audit trail for regulatory submissions.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure ongoing compliance with financial policies and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate the year-end audit process and ensure information and supporting documentation is provided in a timely manner.
- Respond to audit queries and work with the wider business to resolve any issues identified.
- Support internal audit activity where applicable.
- Manage, support and develop one direct report, providing clear objectives, coaching and regular feedback.
Profile
- Qualified accountant (ACCA / ACA / CIMA)
- Experience of preparing or reviewing regulatory returns.
- Experience of managing external audit processes.\
- Strong month-end, balance sheet and reporting experience.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work to multiple deadlines.
This is a maternity cover role that is due to start in November so availability is key.
