The UK Head of Finance (FMCG) reports to the Regional Finance Director and is responsible for all Financial Accounting and Reporting, Financial Planning and Analysis activities.

Description: The role also contributes to the development of strategic plans for the business and ensures statutory and corporate compliance to minimize business risk. Reporting to this position shall be a Management Accountant, Financial Accountant, Financial Assistant and a customer sales and administration assistant. Apart from the Finance team, key stakeholders in the UK office include the UK General Manager, UK Sales Director, UK Marketing Manager and their teams.
- Financial Accounting and Reporting:
- Oversee / review and approve the UK Finance team's reporting activities for monthly/quarterly/annual management reporting packages for UK Legal Entity markets.
- Liaise with US parent company Finance Team and answer all questions regarding reporting packages or results of operations.
- Maintain group tax, insurance records and ensure that all statutory requirements are met for UK business.
- Supervise and lodgement of company tax returns to HMRC in conjunction with PWC UK.
- Engage with US parent-based Tax Director and local expertise regarding Transfer Pricing requirements.
- Undertake cashflow forecasting and management.
- Manage local working capital including inventory turnover and debtor ratios.
- Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Coordinate review, analyse, and present monthly operating results in detail to UK Management (variance analyses - in conjunction with UK Management Accountant).
- Perform lead role with respect to preparing and presenting Budget reviews to Group Management.
- Coordinate and align monthly financial forecasts with Supply Chain and Demand Planning Teams.
- Create budget timelines and control completion of budget input process in Oracle EPM.
- Recommend cost reduction and profit improvement (including preparation of ad hoc reports and other information for use in business decision making) with particular focus on efficiency of TAP (promotional) / CAP (Advertising) spend.
- Liaise with supply chain and US Finance to prepare standard product Cost of Goods for all items for inclusion in OB.
- Report to management on progress vs targets and identify gaps / issues; complete on-time submission of budget files to HQ.
- Operations / S OP:
- Attend meetings on production forecasting, ordering, logistics and inventory management.
- Assist in analysing feasibility of new product introductions from a financial and regulatory viewpoint (for both local and export markets).
- Assist UK Export Manager and EU Amazon Manager with planning and analysis issues within their markets.
- Systems Reporting:
- Continually assess financial and operational reporting systems and requirements and make recommendations for improvement.
- Support European Finance Director and ERP implementation team as Combe migrates to Oracle Cloud ERP.
Profile:
- CIMA, ACA, ACCA fully qualified.
- Experience in an FMCG organisation is preferred.
- Experience of Team leadership.
- Proven ability to achieve deadlines.
- Highly analytical and numerical.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Collaborative, team player with good communication skills.
Job Offer:
- £80,000 - £90,000.
- Car allowance £6000 a year.
