Job Description As a Payroll Assistant in Southampton, you'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of payroll processes. Your attention to detail will help keep the organisation's financial records accurate and up-to-date, supporting the wider Accounting & Finance department. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple payrolls, and supporting a growing workforce across several entities. Manage and maintain the payroll system, ensuring accurate and timely processing Act as a first point of contact for payroll-related queries from employees and managers Administer payrolled benefits and ensure correct tax treatment Support payroll integration and onboarding activities relating to acquisitions and organisational growth Administer pension schemes and auto-enrolment requirements Process employee expenses in accordance with company policies Assist with payroll reporting, reconciliations, and audit requests Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance payroll processes and control A successful Payroll Assistant should have: Experience in payroll processing or a related role. Familiarity with payroll software and systems. An understanding of tax codes, pension contributions and payroll legislation, including auto-enrolment, National Minimum Wage 33 days of annual leave, including bank holidays. ~ Employer pension contributions. ~ Access to an employee discount scheme.
