A well-known global Charity are looking to recruit a Senior Financial Accountant for its southeast headquarters. Please note this is a remote vacancy but you will need to work in the office 1 day per month on average.

The Senior Financial Accountant will line manage the Assistant Financial accountant and will report into the Head of Finance & Projects.
This role will take ownership of the financial reporting, managing reporting and statutory reporting This role will also contribute to group compliance deliverables and ensure effective controls are implemented across the organisation.
The role is responsible for the preparation of accurate and timely monthly management accounts, annual financial statements and managing the year-end audit process ensuring the audit deliverables are achieved. The individual will be working collaboratively with the Financial Controller and the Intercompany Manager within the Corporate Finance and Treasury Directorate to achieve the overall aims of the Directorate.
Description
The role is responsible for the preparation of accurate and timely management accounts (monthly and quarterly) and annual statutory financial statements
· Lead the preparation of the annual statutory financial statements and related audit schedules in line with UK GAAP (FRS 102).
· Support the year-end audit process ensuring a smooth close-down and adequate cut-off procedures to address recurring audit control points.
· Liaise with the auditors to ensure audit deliverables are achieved.
· Improve financial systems, internal controls and reconciliations across the function.
· Oversee all tax related matters
· Work with the Head of Finance & Projects to ensure compliance with the US tax filings (including form 990 and US Census) and other ad hoc projects.
· Preparation of the monthly management accounts pack, including variance analysis.
· Preparation of the quarterly management accounts pack, for the Director of Corporate Finance
· Preparation of working schedules and monthly commentary, to support the management accounts pack.
· Maintain the monthly, quarterly and year-end reporting timetables
· Work with the Head of Finance & Projects to co-ordinate and roll out the annual budget and rolling forecasts
· Preparation of accruals and prepayments, including posting journals
· Reconciliation of various balance sheet accounts.
· Monitoring and clearing down of GRIR accounts on a monthly basis and especially at year end.
· Development of preventative controls at year end to ensure correct classification between GRIR, accruals and trade creditors.
· Headcount reconciliation working closely with the People & Culture team (HR) and Finance Business Partners to produce these on a monthly basis.
· Work closely with People & Culture to review the annual gender pay gap report before it is signed and published.
· Manage the delivery of the payroll function across multiple payrolls (including UK and foreign payrolls).
· Ensure all statutory and regulatory compliance with UK and foreign payroll legislation are met.
· To line manage the Assistant Financial Accountant
· To provide coverage for the accounting of Payroll and Fixed assets and other ad hoc duties as and when required.
· To continuously looking for ways to improve processes.
· To deputise for the Head of Finance & Projects.
Profile
· 3 – 5 years Post Qualified Accountant (ICAEW, ACCA)
· Strong knowledge and experience of applying financial accounting controls.
· Experience of posting financial transactions into SAP and S4 Hana
· Advanced Excel and analytical skills
· Able to manage and prioritise multiple demands and tasks.
· Ability to work on own initiative and take ownership for completion of tasks.
· Works well within a team.
