This is a leading European energy trading business operating at the heart of global commodity markets. With a diverse, multinational team and one of the continent's largest and most advanced trading floors, it manages everything from power and gas trading to emissions and renewables. The company plays a key role in shaping the energy transition through agile, tech-driven solutions and commercial optimisation across the value chain.

Actively participating in and driving the monthly and quarterly closing processes for exchange accounting, as well as efficiently managing transactions between trading desks, with a particular focus on electricity, gas, and CO2.

  • Leading projects for the continuous development of the end-to-end (E2E) exchange process in collaboration with back office clearing and other stakeholders.
  • Supporting new product processes and company-wide projects (e.g., liquidity measures, onboarding of new stock exchanges or international subsidiaries).
  • Contributing to and driving projects in cooperation with other accounting teams.
  • Analysing and internally reporting on margin and cash balances.
  • Handling management requests and acting as a point of contact for auditors.
  • Preparing reports for foreign trade regulation notifications and further developing internal processes.

A core skillset within finance or financial institutions which trade commodities.

  • Proficient user knowledge of Microsoft Access, Microsoft Power Query/Power BI, or PL/SQL for processing and analysing large datasets.
  • In-depth understanding of how exchanges, derivatives, and margining work.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SAP FI.
  • Strong analytical, independent, and solution-oriented approach to work, with excellent organisational skills.
  • Fluent skills in English; proficiency in German is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Advantageous, but not essential:

  • Knowledge of industry-specific software and tools used in commodity accounting and trading or to analyse data.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing internal projects aimed at improving processes and data quality.
