I am supporting a business in Leicester in their search for a permanent Senior Accounts Assistant. This is a hands-on, varied role with lots to get involved with.

Description
The Senior Accounts Assistant's duties will include but are not limited to:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, financial reports, and year-end processes.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoice processing, reconciliations, and payment monitoring.
- Prepare VAT returns, maintain accurate financial records, and ensure compliance with company procedures and regulations.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, payroll, and ad hoc financial analysis for management.
- Liaise with suppliers, auditors, and internal departments while supporting and guiding junior finance staff where required.
Profile
A successful Senior Accounts Assistant should have:
- Previous experience in a similar Accounts Assistant or finance role within a medium-sized business environment.
- Strong working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and month-end procedures.
- Experience using accounting software and proficient Microsoft Excel skills.
- Good understanding of VAT processes, financial reporting, and general accounting principles.
- Ability to work accurately under pressure, manage deadlines, and communicate effectively with colleagues, suppliers, and customers.
