Are you an experienced finance professional looking for your next step with a growing business in the Runcorn area?

We're looking for a Finance Manager to join an established, ambitious business and play a key role in the continued development of its finance function.

This is a hands-on position offering the opportunity to lead a small finance team, improve processes and provide meaningful commercial insight to the wider business.

You'll work closely with the Finance Director and senior colleagues, helping ensure the finance function runs efficiently while providing accurate information that supports good business decisions.

This is a varied Finance Manager position where you'll take ownership of the day-to-day finance operation while also contributing to longer-term improvements.

  • Leading, supporting and developing the finance team.
  • Overseeing the day-to-day running of the finance function.
  • Producing accurate and timely financial reports, reconciliations and ledger information.
  • Preparing management accounts, forecasts, cash-flow reporting and financial analysis.
  • Managing purchase and sales ledgers, credit control, debtors, creditors and payments.
  • Working with operational teams to improve stock control, margins and overall profitability.
  • Identifying opportunities to streamline processes and introduce more efficient ways of working.
  • Ensuring financial activities meet relevant VAT, HMRC, audit and statutory requirements.
  • Supporting the annual year-end process and external audit.
  • Acting as a key point of support to the Finance Director and deputising when required.
  • Profile
  • Previous experience in a Finance Manager, Financial Controller or similar position.
  • Experience working within an SME, ideally in manufacturing, production or another operational environment.
  • Experience managing and developing finance team members.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good commercial awareness and an understanding of how finance can influence business performance.
  • Excellent organisation and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting software. Sage experience would be useful.
  • Confident communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships across different areas of a business.
