You will be working across both advisory and compliance responsibilities, partnering with investment teams and finance stakeholders to manage tax risks and unlock new market opportunities.

Description
- Providing tax support across the lifecycle of property investments including structuring, acquisition, holding, and exit
- Advising on transaction tax issues such as SDLT, VAT, tax residence, and transfer pricing
- Managing UK corporation tax, partnership tax, REIT compliance, and other relevant filings
- Overseeing outsourced providers and internal stakeholders throughout compliance processes
- Implementing tax risk controls and governance frameworks aligned with Group Tax strategy
- Acting as the main tax contact for designated Private Markets teams and supporting investor queries
- Preparing documentation to support board decisions and tax filing positions
- Collaborating with fellow tax managers and building strong relationships across the business
- Oversee property tax compliance processes to ensure timely and accurate submissions.
- Provide expert tax advisory support on property-related matters to internal stakeholders.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the organisation.
- Collaborate with external advisors to manage tax audits and enquiries effectively.
- Develop and implement tax strategies to optimise financial outcomes.
- Ensure robust internal controls are in place for all tax-related processes.
- Prepare and review tax reports for senior management.
- Support the broader tax team in delivering strategic objectives.
Profile
- Holding a professional accounting or taxation qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CTA) with property tax experience
- Demonstrating strong knowledge of UK property tax including REITs, VAT, SDLT, and capital allowances
- Communicating complex tax issues clearly to non-specialists
- Managing outsourced advisors and internal workflows effectively
- Showing strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
- Being proactive, organised, and capable of handling multiple priorities
- Understanding UK and offshore fund structures and tax implications under IFRS and UK GAAP
- Remaining responsive to regulatory change and contributing to process improvements
- A professional qualification in accountancy or tax (e.g., ACA, CTA, ACCA).
- Strong technical knowledge of property tax within the financial services industry.
- Proven ability to manage complex tax compliance and advisory tasks.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
