Job Description The Business Services Director role in professional services focuses on overseeing accounting and finance operations while managing a diverse client portfolio. You'll play a key part in shaping strategic decisions and ensuring the smooth delivery of services to clients. Our client is a well-established independent chartered accountancy practice with a strong reputation for delivering accounting, taxation and business advisory services to SMEs, entrepreneurs and established businesses across South Wales. Known for its relationship-led approach, the firm combines technical excellence with practical commercial advice, helping clients navigate challenges, identify opportunities and achieve their long-term objectives. Continued growth has created an opportunity for an experienced Business Services Director to join the senior leadership team and play a key role in shaping the future direction of the practice. Mentor and support team members, fostering professional development and growth.Leading a substantial portfolio of business services clients across a variety of sectors. Acting as the primary relationship lead for key clients and business owners. Reviewing and approving statutory accounts and financial reporting assignments. Providing commercial, accounting and business advisory support to clients. Supporting clients with growth planning, profitability improvement and strategic decision-making. Driving service excellence and ensuring the highest standards of technical delivery. Managing departmental workflow, resource planning and team performance. Identifying opportunities for cross-selling and additional advisory services. Supporting business development initiatives and winning new client work. Working alongside the Partners to support the firm's strategic objectives. ACA or ACCA qualified. Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and business services delivery. Commercially minded with strong business development capabilities. Able to build trusted relationships with business owners and senior decision-makers.
