This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Finance Manager to oversee financial operations and strategy within the automotive and manufacturing sector. The role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and the ability to manage budgets, forecasts, and compliance effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce monthly management accounts including P&L, balance sheet, and variance analysis
  • Post journals, accruals, prepayments, and month-end adjustments
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end close process
  • Maintain and develop meaningful KPIs to support business decision-making
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Prepare and maintain rolling cashflow forecasts
  • Monitor daily cash position and working capital requirements
  • Track debtor and creditor balances and highlight risks or pressures
  • Support cost control across purchasing, stock, and overhead spend
  • Oversee day-to-day finance operations including purchase ledger, sales ledger, and bank reconciliations
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of all transactional postings
  • Review and process supplier payments and customer receipts
  • Maintain clean and reconciled balance sheet accounts
  • Manage monthly payroll processing, including PAYE and associated filings
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including VAT, PAYE, and other HMRC obligations
  • Support preparation and submission of VAT returns
  • Assist with statutory filings and Companies House requirements
  • Maintain and improve finance processes and internal controls
  • Support optimisation of accounting/ERP systems and reporting tools
  • Identify and implement efficiencies in transactional and reporting processes
  • Ensure financial data is accurate, consistent, and well-controlled
  • Provide financial insight to support operational decision-making
  • Work closely with operational teams to understand cost drivers and performance
  • Support ad-hoc analysis including pricing, margins, and cost reviews
  • Assist with insurance, contracts, and other business support tasks as required

Profile

A successful Finance Manager should have:

  • A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA).
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and regulations.
  • Proven expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Experience in the industrial and manufacturing sector is desirable.
