We are seeking a skilled Interim Director of Finance & Corporate to lead financial and operational management within a not-for-profit organisation. Based in Cardiff, this temporary role offers a fantastic opportunity to drive strategic initiatives and ensure financial efficiency.

This not-for-profit organisation operates within a niche sector and is recognised for its impactful contributions. As a medium-sized entity, they focus on fostering progress and innovation in their field while maintaining a collaborative working environment.

My client is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to join our Senior Management Team as Director of Finance and Corporate Services. This is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing our financial operations, corporate services, HR, and information systems. The role has become vacant due to the incumbent stepping to Interim CEO, whilst a permanent CEO is being recruited.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead financial planning, monitoring, reporting, controls, and audit.
  • Oversee HR, administrative support, facilities management, and IT systems.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and organisational development.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders including Welsh Government and auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and governance standards.
  • Lead internal and external audit processes and risk management.
  • Represent the organisation at key events and promote its work.
Profile

A successful Interim Director of Finance & Corporate should have:

Essential Requirements:
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
  • Professional qualification (e.g. ACCA, CIPFA, CIMA).
  • Proven track record in financial management and governance.
  • Senior leadership experience.
  • Strong IT skills, including accountancy software and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work strategically and operationally.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • High standards of integrity, impartiality, and commitment to continuous improvement.
Desirable:
  • Experience in procurement and contract management.
  • Experience managing corporate services and HR functions.

Daily rate of approximately £450 to £550 per day based on experience and qualifications. Hybrid working model with three days in the Cardiff office. Free on-site parking initial 6 month role. A supportive and professional working culture within the not-for-profit sector.
