Description- Overseeing the accounting and financial reporting of capital projects, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards.
- Managing the fixed asset register and supporting processes for capitalisation, depreciation, and disposals.
- Working closely with operational teams to track and report on capital expenditure against budget.
- Supporting year-end and audit requirements related to capital and asset accounting.
- Reviewing and enhancing capital accounting controls and procedures.
- Providing clear and insightful financial information to support decision-making and project delivery.
A successful Interim Capital Accountant should have:
- A fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with strong capital accounting experience.
- A sound understanding of accounting for capital projects and fixed assets, ideally gained in environments with significant property or infrastructure portfolios.
- Strong Excel skills and experience using finance systems (e.g. SUN, Oracle, or similar).
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across finance and operational teams.
- Ideally, previous experience in Estates, Property, Construction or Housing Association.
Daily rate depending on experience. 6-9 month contract hybrid working. Parking.
