Job Description

This is an exciting new position to join a growing, South Manchester based organisation as number 2 in finance to oversee financial operations and enable business growth.

Client Details

My client are an SME in the heart of South Manchester who are keen on finding the perfect number 2 to work within the finance team. Turning over circa. £10 million, they have steady growth plans and now need another person who can support the Financial Controller in making key decisions and who can add to the positive, working culture that they have worked super hard to build.

Description

  • Prepare and review financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and reporting.
  • Oversee budgeting and forecasting activities, providing actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and manage tax filings effectively.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to streamline accounting procedures and improve efficiency with existing treasury systems.
  • Monitor cash flow and financial performance, providing regular updates to senior management.
  • Mentor and guide junior accounting staff to ensure team development and success.

Profile

  • A recognised qualification in accounting, such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, particularly around cashflow.
  • Ideally, have experience within an SME environment and be comfortable working in a varied role.
  • Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Familiarity with accounting software and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.

Job Offer

  • A competitive salary in the range of £60,000 to £65,000 dependent on experience.
  • This is an on-site role with core hours of 9am – 5pm and it's rare you will work past that. The business also offer flexibility where needed.
