We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Management Accountant to oversee the preparation of periodic management accounts, support decision-making processes, and help the business understand its financial performance on both a weekly and periodic basis. You will collaborate with key stakeholders across the business to provide insightful analysis, financial modelling, and ad-hoc reporting, offering recommendations to enhance decision-making.

Management Accounting & Reporting: Lead the weekly, month-end, and year-end P&L close process, ensuring accurate and timely completion of journals. Prepare management accounts, review financial variances, and provide performance insights. Support the annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning process in collaboration with operational teams.
Financial Analysis: Analyse financial data to identify trends, recommend actions, and produce ad-hoc analyses and financial models to assist in decision-making.
Cost Control & Efficiency: Monitor business costs and drive efficiency improvements across departments to optimise financial performance.
Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a business partner by providing financial guidance to departmental heads. Present reports to non-finance teams and senior leadership, ensuring a clear understanding of financial implications.
Compliance & Controls: Ensure a strong internal control environment, including compliance with regulations and standards, as well as completing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
Team Leadership & Development: Mentor and develop junior team members, contribute to the improvement of team structure, responsibilities, processes, and continuous development.
Ad Hoc Projects: Lead or support finance transformation projects, providing financial insights to facilitate informed business decisions.
The ideal candidate will have a professional qualification such as CIMA, ACCA, or ACA, alongside experience in a management accounts role within a similarly sized business. You should have a strong background in planning, reporting, and financial analysis, with advanced Excel skills for data analysis and financial modelling. Familiarity with ERP systems, such as ERPx, is essential, along with the ability to quickly learn new systems.
