This is an excellent opportunity for a Finance Analyst to join a reputable company within the industrial and manufacturing industry. The role, based in Wakefield, involves supporting the Accounting & Finance department with financial analysis and reporting.

Description

  • Financial Planning & Analysis
    • Build and maintain financial models to support monthly forecasts, quarterly guidance, and annual budgets.
    • Provide insight into sales, margins, and overheads to support strategic decision-making.
    • Partner with senior leadership to deliver accurate, data-driven analysis.
    • Conduct scenario planning and 'what-if' analysis to assess the impact of business changes.
  • Month-End & Reporting
    • Support the Controller in month-end close activities and ensure compliance with corporate and SOX controls.
    • Review journals, reconciliations, and variance analysis to maintain accuracy and integrity of financial data.
    • Assist with the preparation of management reports and commentary for senior stakeholders.
  • Costing & Manufacturing Support
    • Analyse product costing, Bill of Materials (BOMs), and Work Centre data.
    • Support labour and overhead rate reviews and process improvements within manufacturing.
    • Partner closely with operations to identify opportunities for efficiency and cost reduction.

Profile

  • Newly qualified or finalist (CIMA / ACCA / ACA) or equivalent.
  • Experience within manufacturing, engineering, or industrial finance (desirable).
  • Strong Excel skills, with exposure to ERP systems; Power BI experience advantageous.
  • Solid understanding of standard costing and management accounting principles.
  • Analytical and commercially minded, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to build effective relationships across departments.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Organised and resilient, able to work in a dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing setting.
