The Senior Financial Accountant role oversees financial operations and reporting within an international business. This permanent position, based in Kidlington, offers a hybrid work environment and the opportunity to manage key accounting functions.
A well-established organisation in the manufacturing industry seeks a Senior Financial Accountant to support accurate IFRS reporting, month-end close, cash flow forecasting, and strong financial controls.
Responsibilities- Support the accurate and timely delivery of the subsidiary's financial results in accordance with IFRS and Group accounting policies; contribute to the month-end close process, financial reporting, cash flow forecasting, and maintaining strong financial controls.
- Assist with the month-end close to deliver accurate results by Group deadlines.
- Ensure underlying results are in accordance with Group Accounting Policies under IFRS.
- Assist with preparing monthly management reporting packs to support decision making.
- Prepare and review accounting journals within the finance system.
- Prepare short-term (weekly) and long-term (annual) cash flow forecasts.
- Reconcile the fixed asset register and prepare monthly capex reports.
- Reconcile intercompany transactions and balances.
- Manage the labour costing processes.
- Provide insight to senior management via variance analysis and reporting.
- Maintain and prepare high-quality balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist with year-end preparation of local audited statutory accounts and the external audit process.
- Assist with internal audit process.
- Support statutory reporting obligations (e.g. ONS) and tax compliance queries.
- Support continuous improvement of controls and processes across the business.
- Qualified chartered accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
- Excellent understanding of IFRS requirements and experience in a global, fast-paced organisation.
- Big 4 experience is preferred but not required.
- Advanced Excel skills are essential.
- Excellent written communication skills.
