This is a senior, hands-on Payroll Specialist role responsible for delivering accurate end-to-end monthly payroll for a large workforce while working closely with HR and Finance. The client is a large, well-established organisation with a workforce of around 1,000 employees, operating in a fast-paced and highly regulated environment. The Payroll and HR team is experienced, supportive, and focused on accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement while offering flexibility and long-term stability.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing accurate monthly payrolls within agreed deadlines
- Inputting payroll data including starters, leavers, contractual changes and amendments
- Managing variable pay including overtime, sickness, maternity/paternity pay and other statutory payments
- Completing manual payroll calculations where required
- Preparing and submitting payroll reports to internal and external stakeholders
- Responding to employee payroll queries via phone, email and face-to-face
- Managing the day-to-day Payroll inbox
- Ensuring full compliance with payroll legislation including PAYE, NI, SSP, SMP, pensions and GDPR
