This role is responsible for supporting the strategic need to be financially sustainable by creating and managing the financial control environment, as well as ensuring that all financial information and reporting produced is accurate, timely and relevant in order to ensure decision making is as robust as it can be.

Description: The key responsibilities within this role include:

  • Monthly management accounts to year end standard (I&E, Cash Flow, Balance Sheet, Capex) including supporting commentary and variance analysis
  • Assisting the leadership team in preparing budgets and forecasts, including the annual 5-year financial plan
  • Deliver accurate, complete and timely statutory returns (ensuring consistency across them)
  • Deliver monthly forward-looking cash flow forecasts to support decision making and statutory reporting
  • Actively manage the treasury resources
  • Oversight of monthly processes and actions to ensure strong debt management processes are being adhered to and supported by associated analysis and reporting
  • Oversight of monthly processes and actions to ensure strong P2P environment and effective delivery of creditors ledger
  • Be responsible for creating and maintaining a robust financial control environment
  • Ensure that appropriate financial regulations and accounting procedures are implemented and kept up to date with reference to industry standards
  • Establish strong working relationships with the Financial Director to ensure alignment of prioritisation and effective use of resources

Profile: The successful candidate will possess:

  • A full accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Experience of successfully leading and managing direct reports
  • Knowledge of preparing financial forecasts and annual budgets
  • Proven experience of developing and enhancing management accounts and associated processes
  • Outstanding organisational and analytical skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with attention to detail in presenting financial information combined with the ability to produce meaningful commentary on financial trends and performance
  • Expertise in budget planning and monitoring
  • Proven ability to translate technical accounting reports or information into management information to support strategic decision making
  • Extensive experience of developing reporting to communicate financial insight to business leaders and budget owners to promote financial sustainability
  • Experience of working alongside senior stakeholders to guide decisions to a financially sustainable outcome

Job Offer: There is a highly competitive day rate on offer (inside IR35). Due to the urgent nature, only candidates immediately available/available at short notice will be considered. This is a hybrid working position with 2 days a week required on-site.
