Description: The Commercial Accountant's responsibilities include:
- Process supplier invoices and ensure accurate coding
- Manage supplier payments and payment runs
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve queries
- Raise sales invoices and credit notes
- Monitor outstanding debtors and assist with credit control
- Reconcile customer accounts and handle queries
- Perform bank reconciliations
- Assist with monitoring day‑to‑day cash movements
- Assist in preparing month‑end accounts and post journals (accruals, prepayments, adjustments)
- Support the Finance Manager with reporting tasks
- Support audit preparation where required
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet
- Maintain strong financial controls and compliance (VAT, tax, statutory requirements)
- Drive process improvements and efficiencies, including systems and reporting
- Contribute to the overall financial strategy of the business
Profile: A successful Commercial Accountant should have:
