Finance Manager in West Malling

The Finance Manager will take ownership of the core finance function, managing a team of finance professionals while ensuring the delivery of accurate financial reporting, robust controls, and meaningful commercial insight. Description

Finance Manager responsibilities include;

• Lead, develop, and motivate the finance team of 5.
• Oversee the day-to-day finance operations, ensuring strong financial controls and compliance with procedures.
• Prepare and review monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and financial commentary.
• Manage month-end processes, including accruals, prepayments, deferred income, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow reporting, and wider financial planning activities.
• Partner with operational stakeholders to improve performance and provide meaningful financial analysis.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes, controls, and systems.
• Manage key external relationships, including auditors, HMRC, and other professional stakeholders.
• Support statutory reporting, year-end audit processes, and VAT compliance across multiple entities.

Profile

A successful Finance Manager should have/ be:

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
• Proven experience managing a Finance team.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including accruals, prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations, and revenue recognition.
• Excellent Excel skills and confidence analysing large volumes of financial data.
• Experience with VAT returns and liaising with external stakeholders.
• Strong commercial acumen and the ability to build relationships across non-finance teams.
• A proactive mindset with a passion for improving processes and driving efficiencies.

Job Offer

• Salary between £55,000 and £65,000, dependent on the level of experience.
