This is a hands-on financial control role at a pivotal moment for the business.
My client are preparing for their first statutory audit under a new group structure, and that brings additional reporting, control and disclosure requirements that need experienced hands behind them.
Client Details
A fast-growth Saa S business based in Ulverston, Lake District. Fantastic growth plans and financially very strong.
Role will be predominantly site-based with some flexibility - ability to get to the offices is essential.
- Description
- Own day-to-day financial control across the group entities, including bank, ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany, accruals and prepayments.
- Drive a robust monthly close, with clear management accounts and commentary at department, entity, and consolidated level.
- Prepare consolidated cash flow forecasts and support active cash management to optimise interest earned across the group.
- Prepare monthly management accounts for the leadership team, including KPI and variance analysis.
- Perform detailed review of transactions at the department and general ledger level, identifying variances from the budget and prior actuals.
- Support UK and international VAT returns, payroll filings, corporation tax workings and statutory reporting at entity and group level.
- Partner with non-finance teams as a trusted source of commercial insight, helping operational leaders read their numbers and make better-informed decisions.
- Profile
A successful Senior Accountant should have
- Professional qualifications such as ACCA, ACA, or CIMA.
- Excellent knowledge of financial reporting standards and tax regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
- Ideally a background in audit.
- Attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
- Strong communication skills to liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
