Description

The International Accounts Officer will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day financial management of international programmes, whilst ensuring compliance with internal controls and donor requirements.

Key responsibilities include

  • Monitoring and reconciling fund transfers between headquarters and international offices.
  • Investigating and resolving ledger discrepancies and ensuring financial records remain accurate and up to date.
  • Preparing and reviewing transfer reports and supporting the processing of approved fund transfer journals.
  • Monitoring project documentation to ensure budgets, agreements, reports, and supporting records are complete and appropriately maintained.
  • Ensuring project-related invoices and financial transactions are accurately reflected within the finance system.
  • Supporting cash flow reporting, financial analysis, and budget monitoring activities.
  • Producing reconciliations and variance analysis to support effective financial decision-making.
  • Building strong working relationships with regional finance teams and stakeholders across international offices.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function and providing wider departmental support when required

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • AAT qualification or active studies towards ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW, or a similar professional accounting qualification.
  • Previous experience within a finance or accounting environment.
  • Experience of financial compliance, donor-funded projects, or working with partner organisations.
  • Strong ledger reconciliation and financial reporting skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with complex accounting systems.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
