Mechanical and Product Design Engineer in Sheffield

Job Description Mechanical Design Engineer position based in Sheffield, supporting the design, analysis, testing and documentation of specialist engineered products. My client is a well-established and highly respected engineering manufacturer based in Sheffield. Operating across a bespoke and standard range of products, they are renowned for quality, innovation and technical excellence. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Mechanical Design Engineer to strengthen their engineering capability. This is an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a close-knit technical team, taking ownership of product design, engineering calculations, technical documentation and compliance activities. Producing and reviewing mechanical designs, drawings and technical documentation. Carrying out engineering calculations relating to stress, load paths and component performance. Supporting product testing, inspections and compliance activities. Working with internal teams to coordinate design, manufacturing and site-based activities. Maintaining accurate engineering records and ensure compliance with relevant standards. Providing technical support for installation and commissioning projects as required. I am looking for a degree-qualified Mechanical Design Engineer who has experience using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Solid Edge or similar. Strong understanding of engineering calculations and mechanical design principles. Knowledge of materials selection, structural components and manufacturing processes. Experience working to European industry standards and engineering best practice.
